New York is one of America’s most popular travel destinations, hosting some beautiful spots such as the infamous Central Park and the empire state building, but with so many things to see here is a quick guide to all the best places to visit in New York City:

The Rockerfeller centre or “The Rock” as it is known, is home today show studios and radio city music hall, this huge complex offers something for everyone. The Rockerfeller Centre was declared a national landmark in 1987 and spans the entire area between 5th and 6th avenue in the centre of Midtown Manhattan. You can buy tickets to the Rockerfeller Centre Tour on their website, offering a personal headset to give you an uninterrupted account of the Rockerfeller’s history, from John D. Rockerfeller Jr’s vision to build a cultural centre in Midtown Manhattan, to all of the artwork and architecture that are within the Rockerfeller’s walls.

Central Park spans a huge 843 acres of land across the borough of Manhattan. The park was initially opened in 1857. A year later in 1858, Frederick Law Olmstead and Calvert Vaux won a design competition to expand and improve upon the park with a plan they called the “Greenswald Plan”. Construction began later that year and was finished in 1873, it wasn’t listed as a National Landmark until 1962. Central Park is one of the most filmed locations in the world, if you recall such films as Home Alone 2 and Enchanted, don’t miss out on some excellent photo opportunities.

AMNH’s collections contain more than 32 million specimens of plants, humans, animals, fossils, rocks, minerals, meteorites and human cultural artefacts, which is only a very small percentage of what they can display at any one given time. This is one of the largest museums in the world and hosts on average 5 million visits a year, don’t miss out on your chance to see this spectacular display of Natural History, there are various buses and trains that run to the museum of natural history, if you are planning a trip to the museum, I am sure that the staff will be more than happy to advise you on the best way to get there.
