5 Versatile Pieces To Pack In Your Summer Holiday Suitcase

Your summer holiday is coming up, and excitement for a week in the sun is at an all-time high. However, packing our suitcase is often our least favourite part of jetting off to sunnier climes. How many skirts and dresses should you pack? Which swimsuits will you want to rock around the pool? It can all get a little bit tricky!

Fortunately, we’ve thought ahead and compiled a simple ticklist of 5 must-pack pieces to take with us on our summer jaunt. Coming up top in the versatility stakes, these 5 items can be mixed and matched to create an abundance of holiday ensembles, so you can stress less about a jam-packed suitcase, and focus more on relaxing while looking your best.

Follow this guide, and have the most on-trend, chilled out holiday yet!

1. A Maxi Dress

The ultimate summer holiday item for us is always the reliable maxi dress. Available in a variety of different colours, cuts and lengths, the maxi dress is the easiest piece to accessorise, and can also be the most fun! Throw over your swimsuit after a dip in the pool, and add some sandals for a lunchtime outing, and step it up for evening with a waist-bet, statement necklace and a slick of red lippy. Easy, peasy!

2. A Bikini or Three

Swimwear is a must for any summer suitcase, and with so many different styles and cuts to shop now, it can be so much fun going shopping for a couple of choices. The classic bikini is a great, travel-light option, and can be mixed and matched to your heart’s content if you take three or more. If you prefer a more covered-up swimsuit, try the tankini or cut-out one-piece – they’re both bang on-trend this summer.

3. Denim Cut-Offs

Another of our go-to pieces for summer getaways is a pair of denim cut-offs. We could shop these for hours, as they come in so many different colours, washes and styles now, but we always like to pack a pair of classic-coloured denims as they look so great against a tan. Add flip-flops and a simple white vest top for the ultimate in holiday cool.

4. Super-Cool Shades

Sunglasses are another absolute, summer holiday essential. Pick your frame depending on your face shape, and always get someone else’s opinion – what you think suits your face might not to someone else. As a quick guide, round faces suit angular shapes like wayfarers and any rectangular frames. Oval faces suit rectangular frames too, and aviators look great on square faces.

5. Summery Sandals

Sandals are another must-have item, and are super comfortable to wear around the pool and on the beach. Ugg make some gorgeous sandals, have a peep at their latest summer collection for some ideas. We like to take two pairs – a simple, t-bar style for daytime and a pretty, embellished pair for evening drinks and cocktails.
