What to do in Clifton Bristol

Bristol is a huge place and can be a rather daunting place to visit because of this. Fortunately it is easy to break down and visit a bit at a time. For example, depending on your wants and needs for the trip you may just choose to visit Clifton for a week so you can make the best out of the time you have.

You may be thinking, “But a week is plenty time to explore the whole city”. But when you think about it there is so much to do in each part that it is definitely worth separating out your visits into areas.

Here’s what we suggest doing during your trip to Clifton.

Bristol Zoo Gardens

Spend a day at this zoo in the city and explore an exciting animal kingdom that houses a huge range of animals. The zoo has helped conserve many species over the years of it being here and that is a long time, seeing as it’s the 5th oldest zoo in the world…

You won’t run out of things to do here and ideally would spend a whole day exploring and seeing all the wonderful animals the zoo has helped and nurtured.

The Suspension Bridge

Okay, so you may not need a whole day for this one but you could make a day of it and hike through the woods that surround and compliment them (Leigh woods) and stop of at the bridge on your way through to marvel at the wonderful city.

Shops, Cafes and Restaurants

You could spend a day or to pottering around the Clifton Village and enjoying the wonderful restaurants and shops that are situated amongst the beautiful Georgian architecture.

Brandon Hill Wildlife Park and Cabot Tower

After a few busy days you can relax in the wonderful nature park in Clifton. You can see across most of Bristol and the views are spectacular. There are also squirrels and other friendly wildlife as well as a park and the glorious Cabot Tower which you can climb to see a Birdseye view of Bristol.

Art Galleries

There are so many art galleries in Clifton you’d be super surprised. Whether you’re looking for something big and historic or small and modern there will be a place for you.

Where is best to stay?

Now you’ve got your week sorted you’ll need somewhere to stay, right? We recommend the Beech House Serviced Apartments as they’re in central Clifton so are easy to reach from all of the places on this list and they’re also the complete relaxation resort to suit any of your needs. They even have their own built in kitchen so you don’t have to spend all of your money on eating out surrounded by strangers, perfection!
